Sean Miller
Sean Miller is an American men’s college basketball coach, currently serving as the head coach for the Xavier University Musketeers. Miller began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Wisconsin in 1992, followed by assistant coaching roles at Miami (Ohio), Pittsburgh, and North Carolina State under Herb Sendek. In 2001, he joined Thad Matta’s staff at Xavier as the first associate head coach in the school’s history.
In 2004, Miller was promoted to head coach at Xavier, leading the team to four NCAA tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight run in 2008. He then served as the head coach at the University of Arizona from 2009 to 2021, achieving multiple NCAA tournament berths and Pac-12 Conference titles. In March 2022, Miller returned to Xavier as head coach.
Rodney Terry
Rodney Terry is an American men’s college basketball coach, currently serving as the head coach for the University of Texas Longhorns. Terry’s coaching career includes assistant positions at Baylor and North Carolina-Wilmington. He was an assistant coach at Texas from 2002 to 2011 before becoming the head coach at Fresno State (2011–2018) and UTEP (2018–2021). In 2021, Terry returned to Texas as an assistant coach and was named interim head coach in 2022 following the suspension of Chris Beard. He was later promoted to head coach.
In his first two years as head coach, Terry led the Longhorns to a 43-21 (.672) overall record, including a 4-2 mark in NCAA Tournament contests. The team posted 11 victories against AP Top 25 opponents during this period.
Recent Developments
Following Texas’ 86-80 loss to Xavier in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament on March 19, 2025, reports indicate that the University of Texas plans to part ways with head coach Rodney Terry. Despite leading the team to the NCAA Tournament in each of his three years, the Longhorns’ performance declined this season, finishing 13th in the Southeastern Conference with a 19-16 overall record.
Terry’s future with the program is uncertain, with reports suggesting that Texas is considering a coaching change following the early tournament exit.
As of now, the University of Texas has not made an official announcement regarding Terry’s position.
